You really need to trot over to Food Porn. She's makin bacon. Really. I know! Go check it out. And soon, she is making bacon macaroons. I can hardly wait!
To answer a question we didn't eat on the ship. Well that's not exactly true.
We had eaten a very late lunch at the Village. We thought we'd grab something light later on. After exploring the boat (excuse me, ship) we stopped into a lounge to have a drink and something light. The lounge was full, the wait for a table, 10 minutes. The wait for food, 30-40 minutes. This was like 8:00 pm on Valentines Day. 8:00!!!! Anywho, we went to the resteraunt, 10 minute wait. We wait, about 5, seated, then told that only the buffet was available. The buffet was $40.00. The two of us combined couldn't eat $40.00 worth of food at this late hour. We leave.
We find our way into another little lounge, no one is there, the bartender is cleaning up and getting ready to leave. She said we could have a beer but mixed drinks were out as she had already cleaned. Beer is fine. She says, you know, you can order room service and have it served here if you like. We like, we like. She calls in our order and tells us there is a 45 minute wait for service. 45 minutes!
We jump in the car and hit a local drive through burger joint. I have a couple of bites of BH's burger and most of his fries. It's now about 10:00.
We needed to head back to work the next day and I'm not a breakfast eater. But I must have coffee. Must. Have. Coffee. The ship's gotta have coffee somewhere. I ask the desk and she says, A deck, nice little coffee shop. I go. It is!
They are baking fresh scones. Fresh scones! Right out of the oven. Raspberry white chocolate, blueberry, apple cinnamon, banana nut. They smell like heaven. I get a blueberry (yum) and a raspberry white chocolate (double yum). I get butter and cream cheese and two large coffees.
I would go back to the ship just for these scones. Moist, cakey. And they were still warm.
So. That's what we ate. I thought about taking pics of these scones. They were boring and slightly ugly. But they smelled and tasted wonderful.
