Delilah, Pete and Pete

Maybe I haven't told you about Delilah, Pete and Pete.

Delilah is a beta that I got over a year ago. Yes I know Delilah is a male beta but he is the prettiest beta I've ever seen and he doesn't seem to mind. I don't think Delilah is gay, I think he's just very, very happy. I'd call him the 'f' word but I hear that a certain Grey's Anatomy actor has to go to counceling or something now after using that word.

And then there's Pete and Pete. My kids loved that show, remember Pete and Pete, and the mom with the plate in her head? And Arte!

So anyway, some time ago I noticed Pete was getting thin. Very thin. And then one day we found him dead. We knew it was coming. Yesterday I had to get Maya B some food at Petsmart and decided to check out the fishies. I needed to get another Pete.

Petsmart! Prices! Geesh! Small frogs were going for a buck. Large frogs, $7.99! I think I got them at Wally World for $3.00. One buck Pete it is.

Pete!
Then as I was looking around I saw these snails. They were so cute! $1.25 is just the right price for a new roomie. I got the Gold Mystery Snail. He was so active in the store and has not moved since I got him.

This is not a picture of my snail but the color is right. This snail is huge! I'm wondering if buying this snail was such a good idea. No name on the snail yet.

Here's Delilah. You can see the snail in the far right corner.
I knew I would neglect the tank at work so I brought it home so I could ignore it in comfort. The water here is a little cloudy. I've got to clean it slowly as it was terribly dirty and I don't want to shock the poor things. I'm hating the gold rocks now. You can't see the snail very well. I had blue stones in there and got bored with them. I put white and gold in there and I'm not liking it at all. And it's boring I've decided. I'm going to get some new stuff for the bottom. I don't know what yet and also a cutsie thing to put in there. Like a treasure chest or skull or maybe one of those dippy 'No Fishing' signs.

I love my fish tank. It's actually a cookie jar. I love having it at work on my desk. Here at home I don't really have a nice place to put it. It needs to be cleaned often so I've got to keep it near the sink or a sink. The kitchen counter is not the right place for it.

I'll figure it out.

But not today
