Harrison Ford Trivia

Some interesting trivia bits about Harrison Ford one of my all time favorite actors

For instance, did you know. . . .

Calista Flockhart finished a day’s work on the set of Brothers And Sisters and headed to her car - only to find security guards banging on the windows. They told her “some old guy” had gotten inside her car and fell asleep. Soon, the “old guy” sat up and was identified as Harrison Ford.

I don't even know what to say about this. Why is super star Harrison Ford crashed inside her car? In between movies? didn't want to disturb the set? was drunk?

Harrison has admitted to suffering from Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (O.C.D)

Oh. That explains it. I hope she has a big car as Harry is 6'1

In 2002, the entomologist Edward O. Wilson named a new ant species Pheidole harrisonfordi in recognition of Harrison's work as Vice Chairman of Conservation International.

ew!

In 1993, the arachnologist Norman Platnick named a new species of spider Calponia harrisonfordi

ew ew ew!!!

Harrison wasn't the first choice actor for either Indiana Jones or Han Solo. As Han Solo he was given the part because George Lucas was impressed with his line reading after previously ruling him out for having worked with him on American Graffiti. Lucas didn't want to work with Harrison again in Indiana Jones but he offered Harrison the role after Tom Selleck declined it.

Betcha Tom mightily regrets that decision!

Harrison made about $22,000,000 for doing the 1997 film Air Force One.

He was good, really good in this film. $22 million good? I don't know.

Harrison's reported salary for K-19 was 25 million US dollars.

How do you keep yourself from sitting on your ass for the rest of your life with that $22 mil? How much money can you spend in a life time? With $22. mil my butt would be glued to a perfect exotic beach. That I would buy. AND have exclusive rights to! Seriously!

Harrison considers The Mosquito Coast (1986) to be the favorite of all his movies.

Mine too, Harry, Mine too!

Harrison's films in total have earned approximately 6 billion US dollars in box offices worldwide. This makes him the second highest box office earner of all time, just behind Tom Hanks.

As it should be!

At one point during the writing process for Star Wars, Harrison's character Han Solo was supposed to be a reptillian creature.

Or perhaps an arachnid.

Harrison turned down the following roles:

* Bob Barnes in the 2005 film Syriana.
* Dr. Curtis McCabe in the 2001 film Vanilla Sky.
* A part in The Perfect Storm.
* The role of Mike Stivic on the hit TV show All in the Family.
* Judge Wakefield in the 2000 film Traffic.

I cannot imagine anyone but Rob Reiner as Meathead, can you?

Harrison was billed as Harrison J. Ford until 1970 for less confusion between he and silent-screen actor Harrison Ford. He actually has no middle name.

No middle name? I guess with a name like Harrison Ford you don't really need one. I was surprised there was another Harrison Ford actor. Who knew?

Harrison: (the 3 most important things in life) Family, well-spent time and somehow achieving a degree of freedom and independence in whatever you do.

Are you serious? Freedom and independence? $47 million. Two movies. How much more independence do you need?

Harrison: I don't want to be a movie star. I want to be in movies that are stars.

Bless his heart!

Harrison: It's very little trouble for me to accommodate my fans, unless I'm actually taking a pee at the time.

Remember fans. Let him finish and wash his hands first. I think this should be obvious.

Harrison: I'm addicted to Altoids. I call them 'acting pills.'

Perhaps he suffers from OCD and halitocis.

My favorite thing about Harrison Ford?

He is chairman of Young Eagles!

Thank you Harrison. Because of your support you have made it possible for thousands of young people to experience the gift of flight.
