Turtles and dog bites and weddings and are these dry yet?

Saturday a wedding was planned. In Poway, not far from San Diego. Of course it hasn't rained in three years out here so whadayaknow, it's gonna rain. And the reception is being held in a park. Ah huh.
Plans quickly changed to being at the in'laws house.
Sweet bride showing off her flip flops. They say bride on them. Cute huh? One dollar! At Target! Yeah Target!
They had their vows at the beach, no rain, in fact it was sunny and cool.
By the time it was over it was pouring. By the time we all got to the house, it was sunny and beautiful again. What a great day for this dear bride.
Some dear friends.
And the groom.
What does that say on your T-shirt dear?
How long should you wait for your polish to dry before putting your shoes on?

Just a little bit longer.
Nice color huh? It's all coppery and pretty. Just right for fall.

Oh and Tom. . . .
Climbed up on this pot.
Somehow, for some unknown reason.
And now can't figure out how to get off.
You see, turtles don't bend.
They have hard shells, you know, it's kind of like a dinner plate. With legs.
And the arms, while effective for scooting all over the yard and digging amazing holes. . . . .Are not especially effective for . . . anything else really. Finally he manages to fall off the pot, with absolutely no help from me. Because I was too busy laughing and snapping pictures. He was up there awhile too. About 30-40 minutes.
This is a dog bite.
While visiting a clients house BH ran into a dog. A whole pack of dogs, like 5/6 were there. A female rott came up and bumped her nose on BH leg. He walked past her and she trotted after him and nipped behind his knees. No growl, no warning, I saw the whole thing.

I tried to rush to his side and two other dogs, they looked like lab mixes surrounded me. Since I've never met these dogs and don't know these people, I stayed put until the owners corralled their dogs. I was concerned for a moment that they would pack up on us and attack.

The owners were very apologetic, of course. We continued with our meeting. As we viewed the property the owner told me that the three lab mixes were 1/2 pitt. The pitt mother dog had to be put to sleep. She bit someone. Hmmmmm.

These are perfect dogs for this property. It is very secluded on a hill top with amazing views. There is no one around and the people that are around are. . . questionable. The area has many lean-to's and run down trailers and mobile homes. You get my drift.

However, guard dogs should be kenneled when you are expecting strangers. Which they were. Expecting us that is.

Very fortunately the bite was bad but not so so bad. It did break the skin but not too deep. We cleaned it well and it didn't get infected. Just badly bruised. It's still sore but he's gonna live.

Ouch, that looks awful! I'm afraid of big dogs. A german shepherd bit me when I was a kid - and I can never get past the nervous feeling that they are about to attack - even when the owner assures me that "he's such a sweet dog, he would never bite someone." Yeah. We'll see. I am cracking up over the turtle, and what a pretty bride!
