Lake Cachuma

Last week we went to Lake Cachuma. Wow! It's really nice there!

The campground is clean. You can take showers. Nice warm showers for .25 for 3 minutes. I thought that was funny. Coin operated showers. But you know, it was great. I know that I normally take about a 10 min shower so I thought I shouldn't have any trouble taking a 6 minute shower.

Being adventurous I thought I'd try to take a shower in only 3 minutes. One quarter=3 minutes. I can do this.

Strategy # 1: Soap up before you turn the water on.
Soap up dry. This is weird. Soap needs a little water to, you know, do it's thing. So this feels more like applying lotion rather than soap. Just get some on you and when the waters on, lather quickly, rinse immediately. You don't want to be stuck with the water off and a full-on lather going.

Strategy #2: Wear Flippies.
This is really a number one thing for me and that's rubber flippies. (flip flop's, thongs, what are we calling them these days?) I keep a pair of these in my overnight bag at all times. You can (and I do) shower with these on and it keeps you from picking up someone else's feet germs. I'm not a germaphobe but foot infections can be tricky to cure and I like nice feet.

Strategy #3: The water may be cold.
No real strategy here just prepare your mind for a cool if not dang cold shower. It helps to be prepared for it and you'll be oh so happy with mediocre warm water.

Strategy #4: Don't wash your hair.
I wash my hair every day, it's wicked short, how dirty can it be. If you have time after the whole soaping ordeal you can rinse most of the product out or if you're only able to get it a little wet you wont need to add more product.

Strategy #5: Keep an extra quarter on the coin box.
If you decide you need or want more time you'll be prepared.

And the winner is.. .. ..

ME!

I got the whole thing done in 3 MINUTES! I had plenty of time and the water was fantastic! Better than mediocre warm it was hot! Not too hot, just, good, it was good, very good.

There is a fire burning near here. It's called the Zaca's (I think) fire and it's been burning since July 4th.
