Fall pumpkins from Lake Cachuma.

I miss everyone!

I've not been able to read my bloggy friends. I've not been able to blog. I've been stressed.

I have been doing some cool stuff though.

And interesting things have been happening.

I came home from work one day and found this little guy sunnin hisssself (I crack myself up) on my walkway.

He wasn't all that little. Six feet maybe.
The interesting thing is I thought I'd move him along before BH got home and I got a broom out to shoo him. He takes off like a rocket to my planters, my clay pots on the side of the house. Then I hear this little swooshing noise, like 'zooooot' and he's gone. I didn't see him in the pots or around the pots. He just disappeared. I told BH when he got home and we both looked for him. BH thought maybe, you know, I hadn't really seen a snake. And for a minute I wasn't sure myself. Then I remembered I took his picture. See! There really was a snake.

We went shopping at Costco. Why do two people need this much food? Why should two people ever need to go to Costco? They do have really good roasted chicken.

We finally had the opportunity yesterday to go to the movies with middle and youngest. At the same time. On the same day. With youngest working at Stater's we don't always get together all at the same time. So yesterday, he has off, and is not going out with his friends, on a Friday night. Question is, what to do. I usually like to have them over for dinner. It's too hot. No really, it's too hot. It's 115* (yes really) and the humidity is ungodly. Something about a hurricane, off the coast of Mexico. The outer edges of the storm is over our little hunk of California. Anyway we decide a movie with be a nice way to get together, hang out and stay cool with someone else paying for the a/c.

We then take off to run some errands and meet up with the boys at the theater and it starts to rain. Hard. We detour to the auto parts store because it almost never rains here and when it does your wipers are ruined from the heat and non use. We get new wipers and head off to the bank.

It's now pouring, hard, fast rain. At the bank the inner doors are closed. There is no electricity so the girls have to hand write the deposits. Lovely.

Heading closer to the theaters we notice the street lights are out. Not blinking, out completely. Terrific. The theater is closed, no electricity, in fact it took us quite some time to get home as all the lights were out, and it was Friday, and it was 4:00, and the traffic was bad and getting worse.

So, no movie.

I heard later that lightening had hit the McDonalds sign. I'll have to check the paper.

Nice pumpkins. Im not sure where we will get our pumpkin this year. For the past few years we've been getting our pumpkins at a Farmer's Market near our old house. TONS of pumpkins. But, we are closer to the country now and I am sure we can find a roadside stand or farm.

It's got to be pituresque, you know? For memories.
