STUFF ON MY MUTT, or is it stuff in my mutt?

No?
Well it's not so hard. I have a ton (or gallons and gallons) of homemade chicken broth waiting to be turned into soup. The weather is warming up fast so I saw this wonderful recipe for Rosemary White Bean soup over at the Contessa's place. Checking my pantry I noted that I did not have any white beans. While at work I drifted over to the mexican store to pick up some much needed afternoon cookies and a bag of white beans. They had a strange looking white bean, plenty of pintos and these black beans. I like black beans so I picked up a bag. Then I thought I'd add some chilies to it so I bought an Ancho and a Pascilla chili.
I boiled up the beans and let them soak for an hour. Then I rinsed them quickly and put them in the soup pot of chicken broth. Let me just say that this is inky ugly water. To the broth and beans I added a whole bunch of onion and garlic powder and a tsp or so of oregano and cumin. Oh yes and salt, lots of salt and some chicken broth powder. I cooked it for a while and then let it cool over night. I'd boiled the chili's separate and pureed those. Then added to soup.
Today I pureed a little more than half of it and left the rest chunky. I froze 1/2 of it cause it made a lot.
While cleaning up the soup mess BH looks at the counter with the soup that is now in a container.
"What's this black shit?"
"That black shit is black bean soup and we're having it for dinner."
"Looks like we already did."
This is not a pretty soup. It is tasty though. I'll pick up some tortillas and maybe some guac. It'll be good. Really. It will. He'll like it.
PS: That pic of the black bean soup does not look like mine. I'll post the pic of mine tomorrow.
