1. How are you doing? Really?
I want to say fine because I feel fine.
The chemo was rough, really rough but I kept
a stiff upper lip and got though it with attitude.
That's the way I do things. Be positive, learn
from every bad event in your life but most of all,
enjoy the journey. The good, the bad and the ugly.
You really appreciate the sunshine when it's been raining
all week. But remember it's ok to complain, be sad,
mad and miserable as long as you
don't stay there and let it ruin your life.
I didn't reallize how sick I was until I started to feel
better. So now I feel really great! Still I have chemo
related problems. I have numbness in my fingers and toes,
my whole foot really. I have lost a lot of strength in my
hands and arms. Opening a water bottle is a challenge.
I cannot run. My legs give out even though they don't hurt,
they just wont do it. I have occasional bouts of nausea.
My oncologist says it's chemo related and it will get
better over time.
I have completed 2 1/2 weeks of radiation. (
only 5 1/2 more weeks to go)It's a breeze so far.
Just inconvient. I go M-F, 8:20 in the morning.
Because I'm so fair
(read white girl, really really white girl)I have some
burning of the skin, some tenderness.
No serious burns so far, no blistering,
which can and may happen to me.
2. If you had a free plane ticket to anywhere,
where would you go?
Morocco! I really do not know much about the country
and some of the things I do know arn't that great.
But I love the food! I have a Morrocan cookbook and have
made just about everything in it. I don't know how
I'd do it but I'd love to get lost in a little villa
to be taken in by some wonderful granny that would
feed me and show me her kitchen secrets.
3. Do you have any addictions? (could be anything from
ice cream to chapstick to shopping whatever little
addiction you have that you just cant give up?
I do! I have many.
I love to quilt and made quilts for over 20 years.
So I can't walk by a quilt without
checking it out with my quilter's eye.
Fabric!
I must have more fabric!
You can never have too much fabric.
I have several 'stash' tubs and I buy more fabric,
just because it's pretty and knowing I may never use it.
And if/when I do use it I run out of it and since it's
old I can't buy more. Of that pattern, don't you know,
so I have to buy a different pattern and more.
Oh and I save every little scrap of fabric.
When I'm done cutting I save the cutoffs.
They are large enough that I may be able to do
something with them. I usually don't,
so I have lots of pretty little pieces.
4. Have you ever peed in an inappropriate place?
(shower, car, ocean etc).
Gosh yes!
Shower: Of course! Doesn't everyone?
Oh I have to tell you that I asked BH
just the other day if he pees in the shower.
He said 'you're suppose to! It cleans the drain.'
So there you have it!
Car: Yes, like in a coffee can, not just, you know,
on the seat.
Ocean: Absolutly! Don't forget lakes, rivers and streams.
Pool: Yes again! Ok, I don't do that now that I'm a big girl.
It's ok to invite me over to swim in your pool.
The great outdoors: We camped a lot when we were kids.
I've peed outside in every county in California,
in most states and two countries.
In a sink: The toilet was, um, out of order.
Actually it was in Mexico and the toilet was
lying on it's side.
In a tree: We were playing hide and seek and darn it
I wasn't giving up my premo hiding spot.
Pee race: What! You've never heard of a pee race? Really?
Ok, my bestest friend in Jr. High and I would start at
the top of the driveway and whoevers made it to the
gutter first would win. We only did it 2 times, it was late,
dark and I'm really embarrassed to admit it.
She won both times.
She had incredible pressure.
5. What was your favorite childhood birthday? How did you spend it?
My brother and I are a year less 6 days apart.
We ALWAYS shared a party. I have never had my own
birthday party and I never wished for anything different.
Even now I want to share my birthday with my brother.
Funny thing now is that BH's son has the exact birthday as me.
So now we think of ways to share it together.
Let's see, I don't remember the year but there was one
birthday where we had a lot of kids over and we played like
4 different games. Pin the tail on the donkey,
clothes pin in the bottle, I forget what all,
there may have been a pinata in there somewhere.
There was nothing really wow about it but all the kids
had fun and we all ate too much cake and candy.
Now here are the RULES.
