Elvis Week or Month, I forget

I heard on the radio that it is Elvis week or Elvis month or something like that.I am not sure where I picked these up but I thought they would be appropriate for the holiday.

In other news. . . . .

Tommy the turtle escapes!

Tommy is the great escape turtle so we do not leave him unattended in the yard if we are not going to be home. Someone could leave a gate open but most likely he will dig his little self out. So we keep him in a large plastic tub in the house. When we come home he is many times hanging 1/2 way out. Turtles are not exactly agile so I have never worried that he could climb out. Bh calls me from home one day. "Hey! Tom got out! He got tangled in your sewing machine cord and has made a little mess in the kitchen."

This is all new stuff for BH. Where we used to live he had free roam of the yard and house. At night he would open the sliding door and come in the house to sleep. Also when he is very hungry he will come in and hang out in the kitchen in front of the fridg until we feed him. Yes he really can open the slider door. Wish I had pics. He climbs up or rather scooches up the door until he catches the edge and his weight opens the door. You have to see it to really appreciate the funnyness of this.

Tom is used to the house. We would find him all over. Mostly in my bathroom but occasionally he will make it under the kids bed. Parking in the kitchen corner was also quite a fav. He spent a good year in the house when he was badly injured by a dog. Turtles heal very very slowly. Dirt and bugs get in the wound. The only way to safely heal him was to keep him in the house.

No, Tom is not potty trained. And let me tell you turtles can hold an amazing amount of liquid. The solid stuff is not so bad. They eat only vegetation so it is green and not smelly. Ok, so maybe you don't need to know that. But now arn't you glad you do?
