Saturday we got a bunch of thunder and lightening. Very nice show. It was brutally hot and excessively humid. The only way this could get worse is if the A/C broke. It didn't but the electricity went out. Same difference. It went out about 4pm. By 4:20 we were at the movies. We saw Lady in the Water. M Night movie. While it was not awful, is was not awful. That is really the nicest thing I can say about it. Rent it if you must but wasn't worth the big screen as far as I'm concerned.
So we get home, still no power. We had some torrential rains and very heavy thunder/lightening and it cooled off some. Not enough. By 10:00 am Sunday we had decided that we could not spend another night. We went to our local Casino/hotel. We sat in the bar and watched the Nascar race. I am not a huge race fan, not even a little race fan but I had a great time and a few beers. After that we crashed in the hotel.
Now our little hotel was quite an adventure. As I lay there looking at the brick walls I said, "You know, I think this is the ugliest hotel we've ever stayed in." BH agreed. It was clean and the air worked, at least better than nothing, but ugly. Please. I must share with you.
Behold the bed.
Not awful. There is this quaint palm tree decor going on. Even in the hall the carpet has these palm trees. Not so bad.

close up of trees. See, not so bad.

This little gem was our blanket. It is bright blue and matches nothing. Not ugly in and of itself. Just didn't fit.

Table. Just a table. Observe the walls. Brick. No pictures.

Dresser. Plain. Again no pictures.

There was one picture. This is it. Doesn't match anything. On a brick wall.

Lovely brick wall. Just lovely.

This is the grand finale. I really didn't notice it until late Saturday. The bathroom is dark and we stayed in the casino most of the day. But Saturday night, after a few beers I was greeted with this. This is, well, describable. It is even more intense in person.

It was clean, cool, and we had tv and that nifty bottle opener there in the bathroom. What more do you need? All rooms look the same when you are sleeping. Right?

I guess as long as the air was working you could get over the decor....that bathroom is no place to be feeling ill!
