Calico Ghost Town

Sunday we had some business to take care of in Victorville. Since we were out that way, BH thought it would be fun to see the Calico Ghost Town. I've never been so I was excited. I will show all the pics I took later. For now I am furiously getting ready for my tea party this Saturday.

But I had to show you what I got in Calico.

Candles!

Actually BH was busy picking candles while I was looking around. Some of them have fun names like Buck Naked and Sex on the Beach. I don't know what those things are SUPPOSE to smell like but the candle version was very pretty.

This is our snacky jar. For the tea party I thought it would be fun to put all the candles in the jar. It's not quite right though. Maybe I'll put some shred in there. I don't know.

This was my find at Calico. Potpouri rocks! Rocks! Quartz if you must know. Is that wild! I'd never seen that before so I had to have some. They had bowls and bowls of these rocks. Different colors and scents. This one is Cinnamon Apple. Yum! I have it by the stove.

I am cleaning like a mad woman. The house is really more dusty than anything else. BH said I could bring the girls into clean and I am still thinking about that. I know they wont clean all the little stuff like I will. I may have them come in to vacuum and scrub the kitchen appliences and the bathrooms.

I want to decorate for the tea. It will have a fall theme. All my fall things are out of my control for the moment so I will have to improvise. I hope to get some fresh pumpkins and dry corn to decorate. It is still a little early in the season and I've not found any yet.

IN OTHER NEWS:

I ran out to the barn where I keep all my stuff. While coming out I stepped down and saw something move. Looked like a lizard head and it recoiled back into the brick. Lizards don't move that way so I carefully stepped to the side to get a better look.

Snake!

Little bitty snake. Very pretty. Looked like it might be. Could it be? A rattler?

Indeed!

I jostle BH from football to take a peeky.

Sure enough. A baby rattler. I grabed my camera but I was busy worrying about BH who was bent on killing the MF.

He did. Without harm to himself thankfully. No pictures, sorry. To bad. It was very pretty. And small.
