The Midway

While visiting the Midway I spied this in the ladies room.

Rough sea's? No problem.

I'm thinking this set up would be welcome in many households.

What think ye?

What does BH think? BH thinks I'm a duffus!

Quartzsite

Camera droppings

More boring from my camera. We're on our way out of town. Why did I snap this?
This is Quartzsite Arizona. They have the biggest rock shows on the planet. It's a little nothing town in the middle of the desert. When I first went there, way way back when, they had nothing. Nothing at all. We had our little camper and we would stay for a couple of days and cruise all the displays. In Jan/Feb the place fills up. You just would not believe when you see this little niche in the desert with wall to wall campers and RV's.

We were driving by end of December and they had started setting up. Some snowbirds now stay here in the winter. They have hotels and restaurants now.
This fierce little doggie bout ate the window to get to me.

Vintage Stars

More Camera crud

This is a pug. It's hard to tell I know but it is in fact a pug. A certain pug named Frank.Did you know he sucks his thumb? He cries a lot too. Here he's sucking his right thumb. He'll do it for hours or until we holler for him to stop.

This is a vintage quilt.
I've had it for years. Given to me by my precious MIL
Made up of shirts and aprons.
Each square is hand pieced.
I machine sewed the squares on my Civil War area Singer Treadle.
I think the fabs are all 30's area.
Maybe 50's
60's???
That? Is my toe. I thought at first it was my finger but I haven't had a french manicure in forever. Do my toes really look like my fingers? Don't answer that.
I can see house dresses in these fabs.

Grandpa's shirts maybe?
All the fabs are old.
They're not starchy and crisp
They are well worn

And much loved.

I've finally sandwiched it after adding the turquoise and rust border. I will be hand quilting this precious quilt.

Plarn

More camera flotsum. . .
Ever work with Plarn?
No?
Well let me just tell you that it's kind of cool stuff. You take your shopping bags, you cut them up into 1" strips, hook the strips together into a long yarn like rope. Roll into a ball and then crochet as desired. And it's free!!! Can't beat that with a stick now can you?

It's ok. It has no give whatsoever, no elasticity. They do make pretty cool little throw rugs, bags or whathaveyou. I've made one rug for a friend and that was it. I don't crochet much.

Mango Madness

I'm feeling a little of the blog blues, boredom, blah, meh.

I needed to empty my camera after a photo fiasco and found a bunch of pics that I no longer know what to do with.

For instance. . . .

These were the biggest mango's I have ever seen. Got them at the Farmers Market, which I haven't been to in months.
Also, I am badly in need of a manicure.
When did I put that quilt on the table?

What's in your camera?

I don't often take photos with my phone.

A) The quality is not as good as my camera

2) I forget I have a camera on my phone.

But every so often I do take some pictures then promply forget they are in there. Just recently my camera battery died. (extremely rude!) and I needed to take some photos. Whilst back at work I noticed I have many pictures on my phone.

These were taken last July sometime.

A little blurry.I have no idea what mom found so funny. It's clear dad didn't think it was as funny.

This was taken last year while getting the dogs their yearly shots. It's a big whoha in Wildomar and we all hang out with our dogs in the parking lot of the feed store and wait for the vet to get there. The shots are so cheep that we don't mind the inconvenience and usually end up chatting with everyone. Also, I think the dogs kind of like it.

Here we are on our way to Arizona last Christmas. We usually stay with Mother but Sister was there and we spent one night in a yucky hotel.I guess it really wasn't so bad. It had a fridge and microwave and a little table. We were not there long enough to call it home. They did have some good coffee the next morn and fresh fruit.
