Happy Mothers Day!!

I got flowers. I got flowers from everybody. All three sons gave me flowers.
I got so many flowers I thought I'd died

Wanna see a fat boy get dressed?
Wasn't that fun?
The Boy needed to work but was able to stay and eat with us.
HOLA!!
Talking politics with the guys. Seems ANYONE can run the country better than Bama.
Charlie dog. Spoiled rotten little pooch.
Maya came to but hates the camera.
Like this child. Who will be photographed whether he likes it or not.
Look at my goons! See how tall they are??
I don't know what this was all about.
Mimosas with mom.
WITH those four pounds in case you're wondering. After eating a baked potato, 2 ears of corn and a number of Mimosas (WHAT! They were small, I swear!) I still managed to lose 2 of those pounds. That was a gift yo!

Dad bought mom and I these ga ga gorgeous crystal necklaces. These photos just do not do them justice.

For all you mothers out there. Have a wonderful blessed day!

I remember being this for my cherubs when they were little.

Now they not only take care of themselves. They take care of me.

It's not so different after all. Maybe that forcefield is love.

I think it is.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ME! !

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ME !

Two of my handsome sons and 1 girlfriend came over for Mothers Day. I made Waffles with 2 different kinds of toppings plus whipped cream, pure maple syrup.

Now I don't know why I didn't take a picture of the table as they were eating but I did remember to take a pic of the leftover waffles that are now in the freezer ready to pop in the toaster at will.

Here is the waffle recipe

Belgian Waffles

2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 cups milk
3 eggs, separated
2 teaspoons vanilla
pinch of salt
fruit of your choice
whipped cream

Combine the flour, baking powder, confectioners' sugar, oil, milk and egg yolks. (The salt should be added with the flour and other dry ingredients and the vanilla added with the egg yolks). Beat the egg whites until they stand in soft peaks and fold into the batter (do not overmix). Using a 4-ounce ladle, pour 1/8 of the mixture into a hot waffle iron and bake for about 2 minutes. Repeat with the remaining batter. Top with the fruit and whipped cream and serve hot. Yield: 8 waffles.

And the strawberry topping recipe

2 cups sliced strawberries
10 oz jar of strawberry jam

Heat strawberries and jam in a saucepan until warm and strawberries are barely tender.

I had made a carmelized banana and pecan topping as well but it was awful for some reason. Sure sounded good and BH loves bananas but it just didn't fly.

The boys bought me the game of Life. We played that and it really was fun. I hadn't played it in a long long time so I had to re-read the directions and I kind of screwed it up a little. I think that was the most fun part for me. Oh well. At least I won. BH wins every stinkin game we play so I had to do a little victory dance.
