Elvis Week or Month, I forget

I heard on the radio that it is Elvis week or Elvis month or something like that.I am not sure where I picked these up but I thought they would be appropriate for the holiday.

In other news. . . . .

Tommy the turtle escapes!

Tommy is the great escape turtle so we do not leave him unattended in the yard if we are not going to be home. Someone could leave a gate open but most likely he will dig his little self out. So we keep him in a large plastic tub in the house. When we come home he is many times hanging 1/2 way out. Turtles are not exactly agile so I have never worried that he could climb out. Bh calls me from home one day. "Hey! Tom got out! He got tangled in your sewing machine cord and has made a little mess in the kitchen."

This is all new stuff for BH. Where we used to live he had free roam of the yard and house. At night he would open the sliding door and come in the house to sleep. Also when he is very hungry he will come in and hang out in the kitchen in front of the fridg until we feed him. Yes he really can open the slider door. Wish I had pics. He climbs up or rather scooches up the door until he catches the edge and his weight opens the door. You have to see it to really appreciate the funnyness of this.

Tom is used to the house. We would find him all over. Mostly in my bathroom but occasionally he will make it under the kids bed. Parking in the kitchen corner was also quite a fav. He spent a good year in the house when he was badly injured by a dog. Turtles heal very very slowly. Dirt and bugs get in the wound. The only way to safely heal him was to keep him in the house.

No, Tom is not potty trained. And let me tell you turtles can hold an amazing amount of liquid. The solid stuff is not so bad. They eat only vegetation so it is green and not smelly. Ok, so maybe you don't need to know that. But now arn't you glad you do?

Las Vegas part 3 * * * Paris ooh la la

Oh you sexy thing!

I'd like to start by saying what an enormous dork I am. I really thought that I'd read on Blackbird that she was changing show and tell to Monday. I was so sure that I went over her site over and over to find it. Just to prove to myself and blog world that I was not insane. I didn't find it. Drat! Ok so I posted show and tell a day early. Hmmm. I am not insane, just freakishly prompt. Find the positive Prissy, find the positive.

As we were preparing to leave Vegas I really wanted to see Paris. OMG sisters! It's the chick bomb for sure. The shops were awesome and the little cafe's were so quaint. I loved it. We really did not have time to stay so we didn't get to eat at the cafe's but next time. Watch out!

This is one of the legs of the Eiffel Tower. You can see the slots underneath. We are standing on a little bridge that takes you up to the tower elevators.

Another leg.

The indoor street lights. Such atmosphere! It really felt like you were on the streets of Paris. Not that I'd know for sure but I have a decent imagination.

This is in the elevator on the way up to the top of the Eiffel Tower. We were told that this tower is exactly 1/2 scale of the original in Paris.

Once at the top there is an observation deck that is completly enclosed, top to bottom. Unless you are 6" tall there is no way you are gonna fall out or even squeeze out. Although I think David Blane could probebly do it. There are little camera holes so that you can take pictures without the bars.

Like this.

While I was in Vegas I noticed that there are no balconies. None. BH said that was to cut down on the number of depressed gamblers or whatever from taking a dive over the edge. Yuk!

Caesers

I don't know what these are.

Some construction. Lots and lots of construction. I don't know how they do it. There is barely an inch of ground that doesn't have something on it.

I really loved Vegas in my way. I'd like to go back and spend more time in Paris. My folks said that Caesars has a nice touristy area where the statues talk to each other. I'd like to see that. We didn't gamble, not one penny! BH and I are not huge gamblers so we chose to see a show instead.

We saw the Blue Man Group.

I really enjoyed the show. I'd only really saw them on comercials and didn't know anything about them. Fabulous show. Must see. A little spendy but go and have fun. You can really get involved in the show.

Las Vegas part 2 * * * THE ROOM OMG!

Of Course while we were there our favorite pug had to get his picture taken.

This is just a portion of our room. The room was absolutely palatial. 750 sf of room, 150 sf of that was the bathroom. I'm telling you it was bigger than my apartment!

This is a pic of the lower level from the bedroom.

In the lower level we have these delightful not to mention comfy chairs.

A beautiful sofa.

An office area complete with fax and internet hookup.

Le kitchenette

Downstairs TV and fridge packed full of very expensive common items.

TV/Fridge console closed

For some reason I could not get a decent pic of the bedroom area but it is equally gorgeous. Two queen beds, a nightstand and that little padded catch all thing at the end of the bed. You can sit on it and put on your shoes or stacked your stuff. Also another TV up there. And a tiny but adequate closet.

The Bathroom! OMG the bathroom. 150 sf of heaven! Marble everything.

This is the see-through shower. I find this a little strange. I know it sounds silly but I don't want anyone (sorry BH) watching me wash. You know. Wash stuff. It is impossible to look sexy when you are trying to get clean. Maybe I just need a little more imagination.

The tub. Ooh la la. I really wanted to fill that thing up with bubbles and soak. We were quite busy so I didn't get to.

Double sink. We'd messed it up a bit before I could get a pic. Yep thats me in one of the bathrobes. The bathrobes by the way were not all that comfy but heck, they were there, I used them.

This was most delicious. A vanity. Yes I sat there every morning and put my make up on. And also in the evening to you know, touch up. The little round mirror is a light up magnifying mirror. Yeah Baby! I wanted to take it home. Much restraint was needed to leave it there.
