Ok so we didn't get arrested on New Years Eve. But what we did do was so boring I just had to make sumthin up.
After kissing mom goodbye in Mesa we tackled the long drive home. Mostly uneventful except we needed to make an early pit stop to empty that last cup of coffee that I shouldn't have drank. Thankfully BH doesn't mind stopping for me and more thankfully there was a rest stop open because there is no way to just pull over and cop a squat. No trees or bushes, just a few cactus and a whole lot a sand. A few rest stops have been closed, funding I suppose. These stops are very well maintained and quite popular. They even have vending machine for cokes and chips. I had to wait in a long line at the girls room. In the middle of the desert! It was worth it. Flush toilets, TP, sinks and mirrors. All good.
We then made it over to my folks to pick up the little Maya B and headed home. We unpacked the car, leaving everything in the living room and then sat down (more sitting!) to watch a little tv. We woke up about 9ish and headed to bed. Yep, that's it folks. No wild and crazy party for us. We just cuddled up and wished each other a Happy New Year. In the morning that was reversed and we mostly sat around yesterday as well.
I'm organizing my Christmas things as I go along so I'm not near being done yet. But I do have the Gnome story coming up.

I walked into a desert rest stop bathroom once and found a snake wrapped around the toilet. It was gnarly. Anyhooo... Glad y'all made it home okay!
Looking forward to the Gnome story.
