The Christmas table at the old folks home.
Christmas dinner is always Rouladen. It's a German dish. It takes forever to make and mom always makes it for special meals and always for Christmas. I've already been instructed by the boys that I WILL be taking over this tradition when the peeps are no longer able to make it.
Here Ddunkie is perfecting his mash potato gravy holder. I should have video-d it as it is a beautiful thing to behold. An act of true love.
Beautiful yes?That's mash potatoes and gravy. Sauerkraut, which I can make as well as my mom but refuse to eat myself. And Rouladen. I know it looks like a turd by it is in fact a Rouladen. And it is yummy!
Unfortunatly mom diced the potatoes (to speed cooking) and then over cooked them. They were watery and barely edible. Sad.

My family makes mashed potatoes like that on a regular basis. Rouladen looks yummy! I love me some sauerkraut too!
Well, Rouladen does look like a turd. And since I still don't know what it is, I'll trust you that it's good. Ahhh, gotta love watery mashed potatoes for Christmas.
