Enjoy a past dining experience with me.

BH: La Unica? We haven't been there in awhile.
me: no
BH: Raviolis!
me: NO!
BH: Why do you hate Raviolis?
me: Don't hate, mini meals artfully arranged and rather spendy.
BH: Guadalajara's, no never mind, I don't like Guadalajara's. What about Flour Fusion?
me: It's a bakery.
BH: No, yes, it is but last time I was there they had a menu board for lunch
me: grumble grumble grumble (I'm seeing xtreme carbs in my future)
Flour Fusion is an awesome coffee shop. They've got great coffee and you can hang out and play games. They've got this ginourmous chess set that you need both hands to move the pieces. You can play cards and they have a few books you can read. Comfy sofa-ey furniture etcetera. They have The Kind pastries, pretty and unique. I'm quite sure breathing the air in there is at least 3 carbs. At least! But lunch? I wasn't so sure.
But they did have a lunch menu! An interesting line of foofy type sandwiches AND a soup of the day. Broccoli cheese.
BH orders a turkey/swiss with a side salad, balsamic vinaigrette and a bowl of soup. Here it is. without the soup. Which was tepid.

As a side note BH is mortified when I take pictures in resteraunts. I endured the chewing out as it was dead in there.
I wanted something different. On the board was a brie and Asian pear sandwhich. I try to eat a vegetarian meal about once a week so I ordered that. I was given a list of breads to choose from that was so long I forgot what the first choice was by the time she got to the end. I ordered Multi-grain as that at least should have a lot of fiber in it and it was only half a sandwich. (more carbs than I wanted to have for lunch) Jordona, our Barista, suggested I try the prosciutto with it. OK. (so much for the vegetarian meal) I got a little side of the soup, which was cold, even after we asked them to reheat it for us.
This was my meal. I ordered the fresh fruit. The sandwich was TO DIE FOR!! I will be making this at home with some LC bread and maybe without the prosciutto.
Even though the soup was cold and the serving was on the smallish side I think we'll go back again for lunch. I like the upscale food selection and comfy feel of the place.
Here's a review of Flour Fusion:
Lake Elsinore is not known for its upscale eateries, so it is a pleasant surprise to find Flour Fusion Gourmet Bakery and Coffeehouse right there on Main Street in Lake Elsinore. Clean and neat, with cream walls and black accent pieces on the walls, the brilliant bakery case runs the length of the store with black banquettes, chairs, and tables inside to allow for lingering inside with a cup of Illy brand coffee. Tall tables with stools in the front window allow for (street) people watching. The chefs are young culinary school grads with a penchant for fresh baguettes, danishes, cookies, tarts, and other tasty treats. Sandwiches, quiche, salads and soups are excellent. I have had the turkey sandwich on a freshly baked baguette and the pear and brie sandwich with pancetta. A daily quiche is offered but was a bit bland and needed salt. Lots of people are there to pick up cookies and tarts to go, church folk drop by for a bite on Sunday, families venture in to look for a treat. They have discovered Flour Fusion and you should, too.

And:
Never mind the other reviewers, with their concepts of what's "upscale" or not; that doesn't seem to be the point here. What Flour Fusion is, then, is a better-than-decent, locally-owned coffeeshop-slash-bakery located in an area sorely lacking in these types of places. On those grounds alone, it's a boon to the two blocks of Main Street which comprise Downtown Lake Elsinore. I don't live in the city (far from it), but my work sometimes brings me through, and whenever I get the chance, I stop in.
****
Main Street is rather sad. The city has remodled the street twice since I've lived here. They keep trying to make it nice and touresty and a place to go after shopping the Outlet center or attending one of the many events the city puts on. But so far, it's far from the shining gem I know Elsinore can be. If you're ever in the area take the Main Street offramp from the 15, go west (It's the only way really as it dead ends the other way) It's right off the freeway. But go early, they sell out of most of their bakery selections early. I'm not sure what early is but we were there about 2 and the bakery cases were just about empty.
