Avocado Festival

The Avocado Festival was hot and miserable for the most part. Fallbrook is just rarely hot enough to notice. I always pack a sweater when I go. This day had me strippen down to my tank. We stayed at the airpark and burned burgers with the EEA. I'd really wanted to run down to the festival and have a look around but the tram, that was to run every 20 minutes, came up to the airpark full. Every time! And, no one got off. I guess the airpark is just not that exciting. The Jans came back from the festival moaning the heat. This was not sounding like something I wanted to do.

I made a deal with BH, take me to that little herb farm we passed on our way in and we'll call it a day.
The herb garden was a terrible disapointment. It seems the owner was in OC at the Fullerton Arboretum selling and promoting her nursery.

I still managed to pick up a few gems. This is bergamot mint. It smells so yummy. Just like a strong cup of Earl Grey! I bought one for my BFF. Earl Grey is 'our' tea when we get together to quilt. It reminds of us our friendship and the times we spend together.
This is Stevia! Yummo! It is the same plant that Stevia comes from. (duh) If you chew a leaf it taste just like a spoon full of sugar. I bought one for BFF as well.
