What I did on my surgery vacation

I had plenty of things planned for my vacation. No sense sitting around doing nothing. Best to have a list of more things than you can possibly do rather than risk boredom.

So I read:

The Glass Castle: Pretty good, kind of sad, easy quick read.

Everything by Augusten Burroughs: I liked Dry and Running with Scissors best.

Witches of Eastwick: I'd never seen the movie or read the book and I have to say that the man witch, what's his name? Jack Nicholson plays him. The author I'm sure wrote it just for Jack because it sounds just like him. Was not impressed with the book all that much and wont see the movie.

Then I watched movies, or rather a series that I've been hoping to see but never got around to it.

Big Love: Someone told me this was really good. It's an HBO so I'd not seen it. Netflix (I love you with all my heart) had the first 2 seasons. La la loved it. Of course I like Bill Paxton and Jeanne Triplehorn and the little lady that plays Margene, adorable!

Then I had a dream that I was second wife. Third wife was useless, she sat around on the couch all day letting her kids eat dog food. I think that last bit was from Agnes eating dog food on the couch watching TV .(Running with Scissors) And I don't know who the husband was. Off to an 'official' function with first wife no doubt.

Then I watched as many episodes of Jon and Kate plus 8 as I can record and watch. Why? Why do I watch it? I just can't stop. I have no more small kids. I'll never have anymore small kids. I so love this show. It reminds me a lot of when my boys were little. I only had three but I ran a day care and often had 6-8 kids around me at all times. I totally relate to the whole food, clothes, noise thing Kate's got going on. Makes me think of Octomom. How on earth is she gonna do it? How? No husband and she is a little light in the head to start with. Lord have mercy!

I had planned to do some crafting.

I didn't do any of it.

My mom came and spent a couple of days with me. That was fun. She made breakfast, lunch and dinner and I was able to sit on my fanny the whole time she was here. The kids enjoyed having her hear. Middle took her out to the casino. OMG! What is it with old people and casino's?

Didn't matter, she got out and had a blast.
