Bye bye sweet Chichi

Ragus momma has lost her dear sweet little girl. She posted this picture to day and I thought it was just so beautiful that I had to post it here as well.

This is Chichi when she was just a little puggy. With her beautiful and special momma.
It is always heartbreaking when you lose a beloved member of the family. Chichi will be missed by all that knew her well and those that loved her but never met her.

Dance in Heaven little Chichi.

And then I come home to a sick pooch! Maya B is caged all day (sorry but she has to be) and her cage is smelly. When I let her out her entire back end is bloody!

I call BH home and tell him we've got to go to the vet. I call my vet and the vet is not in. Another vet in town is in but I don't like him. My other option is the emergency vet about 1/2 hour from here. I don't like either of these options. I like my vet. You all know how that is. BH gets home and says that she looks fine, happy, waggy tail. She doesn't look like she's dying. (I'm always sure it's something fatal) He's says lets just clean her up and see how it goes, emergency vet will be open all night if we need to go.

So we do, clean her up that is. I boil up some rice and search the internet for clues. Dear internet says these things can come and go quickly, see your vet if problem persists over a few days and watch for dehydration and you can give dogs Immodium. My first thought was that her glands had abscessed because of all the blood. But after cleaning her up it appears she just had a bloody bottom from the diarrhea.

I gave her a bowl of liquidy rice with a tiny bit of hamburger boiled in the rice.

This morning she seems better. Her bottom has stopped bleeding, she is not urgently running outside and she's drinking. I'll give her a little more rice this morning and if she's better when I get home she can have her regular chow.

We can't think of what she could have eaten. We let her lick the plates (Thank goodness for dishwashers) but we've not had anything suspect in the last week.

My Gosh! Willow had a Bloody Bum too! BAD! I brought her tot he vet and she had some intestinal virus...after a few days she came around then to find out she passed it onto Belle. I called the vet and they said it is contagious! BLAHHH they gave me a few packets of Fortafloria to sprinkle in their food and it resolved it with in a day.....
Best of luck to you..having a sick furkid is no picnic! ((HUGS))

Thank you for that sweet tribute to Chichi and your sweet comment about our Tiny passing, too. I can't believe they both left in one week. I never ever thought it would happen like this. We miss them so much. It's so sad around here but we also have comfort in knowing they had a good home with us and they gave us so much joy!

I hope your baby gets well soon. It's so hard to tell sometimes what's wrong and not panick right away.
