I have had Maya B for several years. She's an adoptee that was sadly neglected prior to me getting her. She was owned by a family that got her just for the kids. One kid hated her, one kid was afraid of her and one child loved her dearly. Mother hated her, father didn't care either way. She was an outside doggie and was only fed hot dogs and lunch meat. The result of that was that she is missing teeth. Some of the remaining teeth are loose but overall she is in good shape. (or and horrid bad breath too) She was never walked or groomed. She was not part of the family. Once a year they took her to the groomers (the ones I use) to clean off a years worth of matts and debris. The groomers is only blocks from the house and she would be so nervous that she'd throw up on the way there. She also ran. You know, when the door opens she runs and you can't catch her till she is ready to come back.
Since I've had her she is so much happier. My groomer remembers her and said after I got her she doesn't bite them anymore. (I didn't know she bit) Wanting to avoid any further discomfort for her or myself I took her to the groomers instead of doing it myself. BH has been bugging me to wash her. My response "I don't groom Maya, Joanie does it." I really don't care for the whole dog bathing scene if you must know but will do it if I have to. Well BH grabs her, a few towls and off to the shower with her.
You know, they both did fine. Maya didn't dig it but didn't give him too much trouble. She wouldn't have anything to do with him for the rest of the day but she got over it.
Her favorite part was when she was wrapped up like a puppy burrito and we fed her chips while she dried.
So that's pretty much the highlight of my weekend.
We had family over for a Sunday BBQ. Everyone ate too much. And drank too much. I created this cool drink for my mom. I called it 'Dreaming of Hawaii'. Mom wants to go back to Hawaii for a vacation soon so I thought I fix a nice tropical drink for everyone.
It is,
1 part Malibu Passion Fruit rum
1 part Malibu Mango rum
1 part Spiced rum
V8 Tropical Splash
Over ice.
I didn't like it. Neither did my mom. Everyone else did. It sounded like such a great idea, with all those tropical things in there. The flavor was not as light and fruity as I would have liked. Oh well.
And Monday, we complained about how much we ate the day before, ate leftovers and burned candles in both bathrooms. You'll get it later.

You referred to BH....what or who is that?
Your weekend sounded full of activities...Ruth
sounds like too much rum. Maybe just the one rum and the splash.
